For domestic use, our 4.5 midi skip is by far the most popular.

Your skip hire price is calculated based on the size of the skip you require, how long you need it for, the nature of the contents, and your location.

If you are intending on putting a skip on the public highway, then there are permit requirements of your local council authority too.

The larger skip the more rubbish to sort and recycle, the higher the skip hire cost.

The price also depends on your location in relation to our waste sorting depot in Yeadon. Generally the nearer you are the cheaper it will be.

When a skip is parked on a public highway (i.e. not on private property) you will need to purchase a permit from your local council. Put simply, if the skip is to go on your drive then you don’t require a permit; if it’s to go on the road outside your property you do require a permit.

We can organise this for you but please bear in mind that the permits vary in price, length, and processing time from one council authority to another. We’ll also take care of any warning signs and markings too.

When you book a skip online you select a collection date as part of the booking process. So we’ll simply collect the skip on this date.

If your skip is ready to be collected early – or you need an exchange – then you can simply book an early skip collection and we’ll collect your skip ASAP [normally within 2 working days].

We certainly do! However, given the speed that you want the skip we do not accept online bookings; instead, we ask you to call us to arrange on 0113 2500 540.

We ask you to call simply so we can ensure we have skip availability and driver capacity to get the skip to you.

You can keep your skip as long as you require but the normal period is between one and 14 days unless expressly agreed.

If you want the skip for more than 7 days, it’s £30 extra for the second week. If selected, our online booking system will automatically calculate and add this to your skip hire price.

When booking online you can only select 14 days max from the drop-off date.

If the length you require the skip is over 14 days, then you will not be able to book a skip via our online booking system. If you do require your skip for longer than 14 days then we ask you to call us on 0113 2500 540 to arrange and we’ll provide a bespoke quote.

By law you MUST NOT over-fill your skip. To ensure the skip is safe to transport, you must ensure that it is not filled past the top of the sides of the skip.

Over-filled skips will not be taken under any circumstances.

The things you can put in your skip are:

• Non electrical fittings

• Soil (that isn’t contaminated)

For an additional charge you can also add:

• Domestic Fridges & Freezers – £52.80 per appliance
  (Any other size please call the office)
• Mattresses – £20 per single / £40 per double
  (Please ensure mattresses are placed within the skip)
• Plasterboard – £54
  (This waste MUST be segregated. We can offer a bag for you to segregate this waste type prior to going in with other wastes, this is an option at booking stage. For further clarification please call the office)
• Car Tyres – £12 per tyre
  (Any other size please call the office)

You can but there is an extra charge of £20 for a single and £40 for a double/king size mattress.

This is because mattresses are one of the most difficult household items to recycle. They often contain toxic chemicals to guard against fire, are large and bulky, and have inner springs that can easily damage recycling machines.

You can select whether or not you will be disposing of any mattresses and our online booking system will automatically calculate and add this to your skip hire price.

If you are, you do not have to put the mattress inside the skip – you can keep it separate so that you are not paying for it twice.

Please make sure our lorry will have at least a 2.5m width distance to unload your skip. If this is not possible for any reason, then please contact us to discuss your options.

You are responsible for taking any vehicle off the driveway or road, and for the protection of the driveway.

Well contrary to popular thought, the skip isn’t simply ‘dumped’ in landfill. Every skip load is carefully segregated into recycleables and renewables.

All your waste is taken to our depot in Leeds and segregated. Once segregated it is bulked-up onto lorries and then goes into different recycling streams depending on the material. Around 96% of waste is recycled.
