Recycling

Have you ever wondered what happens to the waste, once the Skip is taken away? Well contrary to popular thought, the skip isn’t simply ‘dumped’ in landfill. Every skip load is carefully segregated into recycleables and renewables.

Our Recycling Streams

All the waste we collect is taken to our waste sorting site in Yeadon and segregated. Once segregated it is bulked-up onto lorries and taken to these different recycling streams:

Scrap Metal

Scrap Metal

Non-ferrous Metals

Non-ferrous Metals

Removed and sent for recycling.

Plastic

This can be recycled so is removed and ground.

Soil & Brick

Screened using a fine process to remove all bricks and stones, which are crushed to make a 6f2 aggregate for sub bases.

Wood

Green Waste

Remaining Waste

Responsible Waste Management

Aireborough Skip Hire is committed to being a responsible waste management business. We carefully recycle 80% of everything we take away – but some things we just cant dispose of – they’re considered too hazardous.

Unfortunately, if we find any of these in our skips we will refuse to take it or you may be asked to pay a premium.

Asbestos

A harmful material that requires specialist removal and disposal, and we are not registered for this.

Fridges

Damaging CFCs in fridges and freezers mean we have to pay to dispose of them, as such, we don’t allow them in our skips.

Tyres

Unfortunately, new regulations regarding tyre disposal mean we cannot take tyres in any of our skips.

If you are thinking about removing Asbestos, or unsure as to whether your waste is asbestos, then we recommend you visit: https://www.gov.uk/asbestos-in-home

Please feel free to Contact Us for advice on the disposal of any of the above.
